hyde、ken、tetsuya、yukihiro、4人のメンバー全員それぞれが作曲を行う、という稀有なスタイルで作品を発表してきた彼ら。4人それぞれ自らの作曲作品の中から、バンド名にちなんで7曲づつセレクト。「hyde best」、「ken best」、「tetsuya best」、「yukihiro best」として4枚のDiscにコンパイル。究極の7曲×4＝28曲というべき内容になっている。そして、それぞれのDiscごとにマスタリングエンジニアを自ら選定し、全曲完全リマスタリング。メンバーそれぞれの作品たちに個性と新たな魅力を吹き込んでいる。
